AKC Titles and Explanations
Ever wonder what they mean or stand for?

Bostons can and do participate in many sports as well as being beautiful in the show ring.

A healthy, sound Boston is an athlete who can hold her head up among the best of them.  Your Boston can sail over the jumps and race around the ring, exuding joy at every turn, in all of these sports and maybe more.


Title:       Title Name:        Requirements:

CH.       Champion                 dog must acquire 15 points, with two major Wins under different judges and at least one Point under a third judge

CT        Champion Tracker       dog must earn all three tracking titles

MACH    Master Agility Champion   dog must acquire 750 Championship points and 20 double Qualifying scores from the Excellent B Standard and Excellent B Jumpers With Weaves agility classes

NOC    National Obedience Champion   dog that wins the Annual National Obedience Invitational

OTCH    Obedience Trial Champion   dog must win 100 points, Have won one first place in Open B, one First place in Utility and a third first Place in either class. First places must be Awarded by different judges

VCCH    Versatile Companion Champion   dog that completes OTCH, MACH and CT

AJP    Excellent Agility Jumpers With Weaves      “A” Preferred Dog must earn 3 qualifying score Excellent A Jumpers With Weaves agility class

AX    Agility Excellent      dog must earn 3 qualifying scores in Excellent A agility class under at least two Different judges

AXJ    Excellent Agility Jumper      dog must earn 3 qualifying Scores in Excellent A Jumpers With Weaves Agility class under at least two different judges

AXP    Agility Excellent      “A” Preferred—dog must earn 3 Qualifying scores in Excellent A Preferred Class under at least two different judges

CD    Companion Dog      dog is certified by 3 different judges Giving it 3 qualifying scores in Novice classes At 3 licensed or member obedience trials

CDX    Companion Dog Excellent    dog is certified by 3 Different judges giving it 3 qualifying scores In Open classes at 3 licensed or member Obedience trials

FTC1    FAST Century 1      dog earns MXF title plus 100 Excellent B FAST agility class qualifying Scores of 60 points or greater

FTCP1    FAST Century 1 Preferred      dog earns MFP title Plus 100 Excellent B Preferred FAST agility Class qualifying scores of 60 points or greater

MFP    Master Excellent FAST Preferred    dog earns XFP title Plus 10 Excellent B Preferred FAST class Qualifying scores of 60 points or greater

MJP    Master Excellent Jumpers With Weaves “B” Preferred        Dog earns 10 qualifying scores in the Excellent B Jumpers with Weaves Preferred agility class

MX    Master Agility Excellent      dog earns 10 qualifying Scores in the Excellent B standard agility class Under at least two different judges

MXF    Master Excellent FAST      dog earns 10 qualifying scores Of 60 points or greater in the Excellent B FAST Agility class under at least two different judges

MXPF    Master Excellent Preferred FAST      dog earns 10 Qualifying scores of 60 points or greater in the Excellent B Preferred FAST agility class Under at least two different judges

MXJ    Master Excellent Jumpers With Weaves      dog earns 10 Qualifying scores in Excellent B Jumpers With Weaves agility class under at least two Different judges

MXP    Master Agility Excellent “B” Preferred      dog earns 10 Qualifying scores in Excellent Agility Preferred “B” class under at least two different judges

NA    Novice Agility      dog earns 3 qualifying scores under at Least two different judges in the Novice A and And/or B agility class

NAJ    Novice Agility Jumper      dog earns 3 qualifying scores Under at least two different judges in the Novice A and/or B Jumpers With Weaves class

NAP    Novice Agility Preferred      dog earns 3 qualifying scores Under at least two different judges in the Novice Agility Preferred A and/or B class

NF    Novice FAST      dog earns 3 qualifying scores of 50 Points or greater in Novice A or B FAST Agility class under at least two different judges

NFP    Novice FAST Preferred      dog earns 3 qualifying scores Of 50 points or greater in the Novice A or B FAST Preferred Agility class under at least Two different judges

NJP    Novice Jumpers With Weaves Preferred      dog earns 3 Qualifying scores in Novice A and/or B Jumpers with Weaves Preferred class under At least two different judges

OA    Open Agility      dog earns 3 qualifying scores under at Least two different judges in the Open Agility Class

OAJ    Open Agility Jumper      dog earns 3 qualifying scores Under at least two different judges in the Open Jumpers With Weaves agility class

OAP    Open Agility Preferred      dog earns 3 qualifying scores Under at least tow different judges in the Open Agility Preferred class

OF    Open FAST      dog earns 3 qualifying scores of 55 points Or greater in the Open FAST agility class under At least two different judges

OFP    Open FAST Preferred      dog earns 3 qualifying scores of 55 points or greater in the Open Preferred FAST agility class under at least two different Judges

OJP    Open Jumpers With Weaves Preferred      dog earns 3 Qualifying scores under at least two different Judges in Open Jumpers With Weaves Preferred Agility class

PAX      Preferred Agility Excellent      dog earns 20 double Qualifying scores under at least two different Judges in both the Preferred Excellent B and Preferred Excellent B Jumpers With Weaves

RN    Rally Novice      dog earns 3 qualifying scores under at Least two different judges in the Novice Rally Obedience class

RA    Rally Advanced      dog earns 3 qualifying scores under at Least two different judges in the Rally Advanced obedience class

RE    Rally Excellent      dog earns 3 qualifying scores under at Least two different judges in the Rally Excellent obedience class

RAE    Rally Advanced Excellent      dog earns 10 double Qualifying scores in both Rally Advanced B And Rally Excellent B classes

TD    Tracking Dog      dog is certified by two judges to have Passed a licensed or member club TD test or At a combined TD/TDX test, or a combined TD/VST test or a combined TD/TDX/VST test

TDX    Tracking Dog Excellent      dog has been certified by two Judges to have passed a licensed or member Club TDX test or a combined TDX/VST test, Or a combined TD/TDX test or a combined TD/TDX/VST test

UD    Utility Dog      dog earns 3 qualifying scores under three Different judges in the Utility obedience class

UDX    Utility Dog Excellent      dog earns qualifying scores in Both Open B and Utility B obedience classes At 10 separate licensed or member obedience Trials

VCD1    Versatile Companion Dog 1      dog must complete CD, NA, NAJ, TD or CD, NAP, NJP, TD

VCD2    Versatile Companion Dog 2      dog must complete CDX, OA, OAJ, TD or CDX, OAP, OJP, TD

VCD3    Versatile Companion Dog 3    dog must complete UD, AX, AXJ, TDX or UD, AXP, AJP, TDX

VCD4    Versatile Companion Dog 4      dog must complete UDX, MX, MXJ, VST or UDX, MXP, MJP, VST

VST    Variable Surface Tracking      dog is certified by both Judges to have passed a licensed or member Club Variable Surface Tracking Test

XF    Excellent FAST      dog earns 3 qualifying scores of 60 Points or greater in the Excellent FAST agility Class under at least two different judges

XFP    Excellent FAST Preferred      dog earns 3 qualifying Scores of 60 points or greater in the Excellent FAST Preferred agility class under at least two Different judges.
